As you may know, most conventional chiropractors focus on the popping/cracking style of adjustment, often accompanied by therapies such as ice, heat, electric stimulation, etc. to loosen up tight muscles and get short term pain relief. These doctors are often great at what they do.
Our focus, Neuro-Structural Chiropractic, addresses the underlying relationship between the spine and the nervous system, which is the main system that controls, coordinates and regulates the entire body. Not only does the spine provide protection for the spinal cord and nerves, but also plays a major role in communicating with the brain by sending information through its joints and tissues.
When there is a shift in the structure of the spine, it can place adverse pressure and tension on the spinal cord, nerves and blood vessels. It also causes the sensors in joints and certain tissues to send faulty signals to and from the brain.
Rather than simply trying to push a bone back into its place, our goal is to determine which of the vertebrae are causing the most dysfunction to the rest of the spine and nervous system so we can correct the primary problem. Factoring in how everything impacts the brain, nerves, muscles, vessels and respiratory system gives us an edge in finding solutions to many types of issues.
We aim to support these corrections by providing our patients with additional clinical care and a comprehensive, personalized strategy for self-care at home to ensure that we achieve the results we are aiming for.
